The wavelength and frequency of electromagnetic waves are inversely proportional, and related by a factor equal to the speed of propagation in the given medium (i.e., the speed of light, for wave propagation in a vacuum). This means that for a given medium, the higher the frequency of oscillation, the shorter the wavelength.
